HONEY ON ETSY

Benefits of Raw Honey

Raw honey is a nutrient-rich, complete, living food containing vitamins, minerals, proteins, enzymes, and amino acids. It is a natural source of quick energy.

It contains vitamins A, C, D, E and K and vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B12 (cyanocobalamine), B9 (folic acid), as well as various minerals and trace elements including: calcium, iodine, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, and zinc.

Anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, brain-enhancing. Honey has high concentrations of polyphenol bioflavanoids: pinobanksin, chrysin, galagin, and pinocembrin, an anti-oxidant associated with improved brain function.

Anti-microbial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-biotic.
Bacteria cannot grow in raw honey, therefore honey rarely spoils. As long as it is stored in a properly sealed container and protected from moisture, honey will last indefinitely.

Heals wounds, burns, cataracts, ulcers, sores, and scrapes. Because of its anti-bacterial properties raw honey makes an excellent protective barrier for all types of wounds and speeds the healing process due to its high concentration of vitamin C and amino acids.

Strengthens muscles. Raw honey contains amino acids which help build and strengthen muscle tissue.

Relieves sore throats and dry coughs. Raw honey’s anti-inflammatory and healing properties help soothe infections and irritation.

Raw honey contains a multitude of various enzymes. Enzymes aid in digestion and other processes in the body.

All-over skin care and moisturizer. Great on lips, face, and body as a wash, mask, balm, healing salve, hair and scalp treatment, and moisturizer.

Natural allergy relief. Because raw honey contains pollen, it is a natural immunity enhancer and allergy fighter. (It is always best to buy regionally local honey for allergy relief to ensure that it contains the pollens that grow in your area.)

Know your beekeeper.

Many commercial products labeled as honey are NOT honey--having no pollen in them at all, and may contain additives such as corn syrup, or have been heated and processed, thereby limiting or completely destroying the nutritional and medicinal benefits.

Recent news has reported that a lot of the honey distributed throughout the United States (up to 90%!) has been imported from China and is not real honey!
